This is a kit to assemble a set of six 11" tall Byzantine-style priest vestments (phelonia) for the "Liturgical Colors" church school lesson in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) curriculum. All materials needed to sew the phelonia, and the wood stands to display them, come in a high quality storage box with a magnetic closure. The 100% cotton sateen fabric resembles real damask vestment fabric, and is very easy to sew with! (This set was previously made with satin, a very difficult fabric to handle and sew.) The fabric comes with the patterns for 6 vestments printed directly onto the fabric, so there is no fussing with a paper pattern.
This kit includes:
- all of the fabric needed to make the six vestments
- gold & silver trim to complete the edges of the vestments and cross on the back
- thread matched to the trim colors (250 yds polyester all-purpose)
- laser-cut wood stands
