Introducing the Feast Day Fun card game, a new card game for Orthodox Christians to learn about the 12 Great Feasts and Pascha (the Feast of Feasts). This professional deck of cards has a branded elastic band to keep the deck together, and includes instructions for play in the little church (your home) and the Church (Sunday school, teen events, or family night activities).

This is a deck of 78 colorful cards that includes six cards for each of the 13 feasts. Each feast’s set of cards includes: the name of the feast, the date the feast is celebrated (old & new calendar), a black & white line drawing of the icon, the Troparion, fun facts about the feast, and facts about the feast’s icon. The cards in each group are colored with the liturgical color of that feast, e.g. gold for Nativity.
Developed by an Orthodox Christian mama and Church School teacher of many years, Christi Ghiz. She used an old Sunday School resource created by another teacher, sought and earned permissions for all aspects of the game, and developed the finished product with her own investment.
There are many ways to play with children of all ages (0-92)!
  • Because the cards use the colors of the feast you can begin playing simple games like “Go Feast” with young children using only colors. “No green card, Go Feast!”  As they are able to read and mature in their faith you can introduce new rules of play to challenge their understanding. “No Ascension cards, Go Feast!”
  • More than one deck in a church school room?  Let the competition begin! The developer outlined a number of ways to play: from memory games to arranging the feast days in chronological order (calendar year & liturgical year) to choosing the name of a feast day and drawing it with sidewalk chalk including as many details from the icon as you can remember.
  • Most simply, these can be laid out at your icon corner to teach yourself and your family about the approaching feast day.
